The mission of the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE), an autonomous organization, is "to assure the public that only those programs that have complied with this agency's standards and that graduate competent audiologists trained at the Au.D. level will be accredited." The ACAE also assures its communities of interest that graduates of ACAE accredited programs will be able to function according to the national scope of practice as defined by the profession. ACAE accreditation recognizes, reinforces, and promotes the highest quality in Au.D. educational programs through a rigorous verification process.
