  • Music•PRO® High-Definition Electronic Earplugs
    Etymotic Research, Inc.

The ultimate in hearing protection.  Adaptive Noise Reduction: Music•PRO circuitry automatically changes output levels as sound input levels change. Hearing is natural, as if nothing is in the ears, until sound exceeds safe levels. As sound levels increase, earplugs gradually provide 9- or 15-dB sound reduction. Natural hearing is restored when sound returns to safe levels.

"In the past, I had to remove and replace my earplugs repeatedly during concerts and rehearsals so that I could hear myself and my colleagues during soft passages and still protect my ears during loud sections. The MusicPro 9-15's have allowed me to significantly minimize the number of times that I need to do that. They've helped me to reduce the stress associated with playing in such a potentially loud environment and they've increased my enjoyment of my job."

  • Home Hearing Test (HHT™)
    Etymotic Research, Inc.

Access to a simple, accurate reliable method of testing hearing outside the medical or commercial environment does not currently exist. Several types of self-administered hearing tests are available via telephone, smartphone apps and Internet sites. The primary limitation of these tests is they do not use calibrated equipment and there is no control over test stimuli. The Home Hearing Test determines when hearing should be checked by a licensed hearing professional, but does not identify the cause of hearing loss or determine what the treatment should be.

The goal of the HHT is to provide accurate information so consumers can take steps toward better hearing wellness. There are many uses for the HHT in home and professional settings.

  • ETY•Kids® Safe-Listening Earphones
    Etymotic Research, Inc.

    It's about children.
It's about hearing for a lifetime.

Today's tech-connected kids live in a high-def world. They experience Blu-ray, surround-sound, life-like computer graphics and 3-D movies. They are bombarded by sound from television, toys, game consoles, music players and in-vehicle entertainment systems.

Sound heard through ETY•Kids earphones will not exceed safe levels, so parents can rest easy. Even at the maximum volume setting on portable players, kids can listen safely for up to four hours per day. And because ETY•Kids earphones block background noise, and provide high-definition sound quality, kids will be able to hear every detail, and won't complain that the volume is too low.

  • Personal Noise Dosimeters

  • HD5 Safety™ Earphones
    Etymotic Research, Inc.

HD5 high-definition, noise-isolating Safety Earphones are reduced-output earphones, engineered for safe listening and exceptional sound quality. Risk to hearing is minimized, regardless of the volume level from portable players. HD5 earphones block sound (like earplugs) to reduce external noise and limit the amount of sound that reaches the eardrum. The sound output of HD5 earphones is safer than with noise-canceling earphones, or earbuds that do not properly seal the ears.

    Noise Reduction with HD5 Earphones:

Use of these earphones at full volume on portable music players is within OSHA Permissible Exposure Limits for 10 ½ hours per day (52 ½ hours per week). Ambient noise levels up to 108 dB (foam eartips) or up to 102 dB with 3-flange eartips does not significantly affect overall noise dose.
